JULY 14 – 9:30 AM
Each month at the preserve, treat your family to a few fun opportunities to recieve hands-on learning though exploration and exercise. Get in touch with wildlife, plants, and nature with a well trained naturalist. Discovery hikes are offered the second Tuesday of each month with a seasonal theme different each month, for families with children ages 5-12.
This month, hike to the pond to trap a few turtles then realease. Explorers will be learning all about Alabama’s top spot in the nation as the turtle kings! And there will be a worm dig to find food to feed to the box turtles. So be ready to meet at the pavillion for a little learning in July!
Donations are welcome. Cancelled in the event of rain.

JULY 25 – 10 AM
We all love that sweet golden honey that this amazing insect produces, but did you know that the honey bee is largely responsible for much of our crop pollination? After this interesting program we will hike out to the preserve hives and watch beekeepers at work. Admission is $5 for non-members and $4 for members. Pre-registration is not required.
