On Friday, March 20th the inaugural Dufner Dash and Bash 5K & Fun Run will take place at Auburn University. The race will begin and end at the Red Barn. Participants will embark on a scenic tour of the most beautiful college campus in the south. This fun event is open to all ages and skill levels. The run will support the local Foundation’s mission to end child hunger in Lee County. All race proceeds will help fund the Foundation’s Blessings in a Backpack program, which feeds more than 1,000 local elementary school children every weekend.
All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt, finishers medal, post-race snacks and beverages. Directly after the race, the Dufners are hosting a free community block party at the Red Barn that will feature live entertainment, outdoor games and concessions in a family friendly environment. The block party is free to the public, however there are a limited number of pre-sale VIP tickets that include food and beverages. Race day registration will be $35 for the 5K and $20 for the Fun Run, and these prices are for all age groups.

Packet pick up will be hosted by Big Dog Running Co in downtown Auburn at 152 North College Street on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 12pm to 6pm. University students – be sure to bring your ID for confirmation.
