Next Saturday, November 22nd the Auburn Tigers will host Samford University for the last home game of the season. The Auburn University Bookstore will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. that day! Make the most of the last home game this year by heading to campus early to shop the sales tables at the Bookstore. Don’t forget to pick up your complimentary spirit button while supplies last. As always kids of all ages can enjoy complimentary face painting on the patio with donations benefiting the food bank.
The Bookstore will also host columnist Mary Adams Belk for a book signing in store 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 pm. Belk will be signing copies of her book, Second Cup, and will be available to talk to fans. Mary Adams Belk has written colorful columns for newspapers for more than 20 years. This collection of some of her favorite columns over the years is guaranteed to evoke a good memory and a chuckle or two for readers. “Mary Belk pulls you into her frank and funny world with her first, well-chosen words and then entertains you till the resolution of each essay. She is a master of the form, and knows instinctively what things really matter. It’s harder to write about everyday pleasures and obstacles than politics. Harder, but more rewarding. She sticks to the verities, so Mary Belk’s themes won’t need footnotes in a year or two. This is a fine collection.” -Rheta Grimsley Johnson, syndicated columnist and author of “Hank Hung the Moon” and “Enchanted Evening Barbie and the Second Coming”
Several photographers whose photos are featured in the 2015 Davis Arboretum Calendar will also be present for a Calendar Signing and to discuss their photography. Be sure to make a stop at the Bookstore during your last home tailgate of the year!
