
Make sure you are in Auburn this Saturday, September 27th, for Homecoming! Homecoming is a treasured time for the Auburn family. It is a time for alumni, current students, and football fans alike to join together to celebrate coming home to the plains to cheer on the Auburn Tigers. Bring your entire family out for a fun filled weekend beginning on Friday. Kick start the excitement by attending the Auburn University Bookstore’s T-shirt Event. From 10 am until 2 pm the Haley Center Concourse will be crawling with Auburn fans. During the event, attendees can purchase an exclusive T-shirt design available for just $7.99 while supplies last. Don’t forget to check out the other sales tables, and pick up your complimentary hand fan and spirit button. Kids of all ages will enjoy face painting on the patio from 10 am until 2 pm, with donations benefiting the food bank. Eat lunch on campus or downtown and make this event an Auburn tradition for your entire family.
Tons of book signings will also be taking place on Friday in and around the Bookstore. Authors Mickey Logue and Jack Simms will be present to sign copies of the latest edition of their book, AUBURN: A Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village, from 10 A.M until 12:30 P.M in the store. Mel Rosen, former Auburn and Olympic track and field coach, and Craig Darch, author of From Brooklyn to the Olympics: The Hall of Fame Career of Auburn University Track Coach Mel Rosen, will also be present for a book signing from 10 am until 12:30 pm in the store. Josh and Wendy Torres will be signing copies of their children’s’ book, This Little Tiger from 10 am until 12:30 pm on the Bookstore patio.
Let the good times continue to roll Friday night. At 6 pm the SGA Homecoming Parade will take place. The parade will feature the Auburn University Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Miss Homecoming Candidates, as well as other university and community organizations. Immediately after the parade, at 7 pm, make your way over to the Gay Street parking lot for Friday Night Lights. This concert event will feature Trotline and Jon Wilkris Trio. On game day Saturday, head to campus! Whether you are attending the game or hitting up a few tailgate spots, Auburn University is the place to be. We will see you there to cheer on the Auburn Tigers as they take on Louisiana Tech for the Homecoming game!
