Oktoberfest 2014 will be the fifth year this event has taken place at The Hotel at Auburn University. This iconic event will be held again this year in the north parking lot of the hotel on September 20, with attendance expected to reach over 1,000 craft beer enthusiasts. Local, regional, and even national breweries will be present at Oktoberfest showcasing a wide variety of enticing beers for those in attendance to sample. One-off beers will also be available from certain breweries that are brewed special to be served during Oktoberfest.
New to the event this year will be a feature called “Homebrew Alley.” Home brewers will be given a fun and rewarding opportunity to present their craft beer to those in attendance at Oktoberfest. Head brewers of certain select breweries will judge a sample from each of the home brewer participants. One winner will be selected to join the head brewer of Blue Pants Brewery to spend time brewing their own unique recipe as a one-off beer in the Blue Pants facility. Once the beer is produced, The Hotel at Auburn University will feature the winning beer selection on draft for a limited time this fall season! Festival goers will also have the opportunity to voice their opinion while voting for their favorite home brewed beer throughout the night, and a crowd favorite will be chosen.
Be sure to mark your calendars to attend this one of a kind Auburn tradition on September 20th from 3-9 p.m. with 1,000 other craft beer enthusiasts! Along with lots of beer, there will be plenty of food, fun, and music to fill your night at Oktoberfest!
