This Sunday, October 26th, get your pets ready for an afternoon filled with fun. Bark for Life is a community wide event brought to you by the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and American Cancer Society. Animals are often affected by cancer, just as humans are. Bark for Life aims to highlight the connection between human and animal cancer, by offering pets and their owners an evening filled with education exhibits and various fun events. Activities will begin at 4 p.m. and will be held on the front lawn of the College of Veterinary Medicine on Wire Road until around 5:30 p.m.
Our furry friends will join their owners in a Howl-a-Ween costume contest follow by a memorial and survivor walk. Student organizations from the college will be present with Trunk or Treat displays for both companion animals and their children. There will also be a photo booth for attendees and their pets to have their photo taken to commemorate this educational event. Exhibits from the Auburn University Research Initiative in Cancer (AURIC) and the Oncology Service of the Wilford and Kate Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital will showcase a plethora of educational information for everyone to view. Other organizations such as Hills, Purina, and the Morris Foundation will also have various displays. This is a perfect chance to take your beloved pets out for an afternoon of exciting and educational events that supports a worthy cause!
