Touch a Truck in Opelika is one of our favorite events every year! I think I say that a lot, but it is because the two cities of Opelika and Auburn put on fabulous events throughout the year! Since I am mom to a 3 year old boy, trucks definitely top the list in our household….
This Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. in Downtown Opelika, kids of all ages will get to enjoy checking out, climbing on, and pretending to drive several different trucks and other vehicles. On tour will be a fire engine, mobile command unit, ambulance, school bus, construction and military equipment, UPS Truck, just to name a few. The kids absolutely eat this up and have a great time—lots of parents do, too, actually!
There is no charge for admission—they just ask you to visit one of the downtown dives for lunch and support the businesses that help put on the event—and the restaurants downtown are all yummy, too. My new favorites downtown are Ma-Fia’s and Irish Bred Pub, but you really cannot go wrong anywhere downtown for lunch.
