The 2011 Ag Round Up and Taste of Alabama Agriculture will be this Saturday, November 19th at the Auburn University Ag Heritage Park, which is at the corner of South Donahue and Lem Morrison Drive. This event is one of my family’s favorite yearly events, featuring a sampling of just about anything produced by Alabama Farmers! Admission is $5 payable at the gate, and children 6 and under are admitted free. The proceeds go to give away scholarships to deserving AU students.
The Ag Round Up kicks off at 8:00 a.m. and will end a 11:00 a.m., an hour before kickoff for the AU Homecoming game. This is the best tailgate party on The Plains offering grilled burgers, sausages, corn dogs, fried catfish, boiled peanuts, turnip greens, ice cream, sweet potato fries and much more! In addition to the tasting of all these goodies, there will be live and silent auctions to fund College of Ag scholarships, music, children’s activities and a visit from the AU band and cheerleaders!
