This past weekend, Rankin and I did an open house at Lakewood Commons for a condo that Ryan and I have listed over there. For those of you who are not hunters, Saturday was the opening of gun season for deer hunting. My husband really would love to be an avid hunter and doesn’t get to go a great deal, so we told him to go on Saturday and hurry before we changed our minds! Unable to find a babysitter, Rankin was a Realtor for a day with me! Spending a few hours with a 2 year old at a location really makes you appreciate what they do have to offer!
For instance, fire hydrants and a bucket are always fun?
Rankin and I played dump trucks on the newly freshly finished tennis courts. They are fenced all the way around (which is also perfect for a 2 year old!) They must have been redone in the past year or so, because they are in fantastic shape! There were signs saying that the tennis courts are to only be used for tennis. I am sure that dump trucks do not fit into tennis; however, I figured we would ask for forgiveness if somebody complained.
We also played dump trucks on the sand volley ball court. Who knew that sand could occupy your time so much! We filled and emptied the dump trucks with sand many, many times….Next door to the volley ball and tennis courts is a basketball court. All of this is bordered by trees and super sidewalks. I know this, because I too pushed a dump truck around all three along the sidewalks!
Probably the biggest attraction of Lakewood Commons, though, is the tranquil setting. It’s a quiet complex with lots of trees, a pond, fully equipped with ducks! At first Rankin was a little scared of the ducks, but after a while, he was “calling them.” “HERE DUCKS. COME HERE!!” Needless to say, they checked us out and quickly swam away. Must have been the bucket….
The unit that we have listed at the complex is in the very back, directly behind the tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts. The back porches of the building actually face the woods, so they have this view….
One other thing to note about Lakewood Commons is that pets are allowed. Fewer complexes in Auburn are offering this as an option these days. I was reminded of the fact when Rankin and I had the pleasure of meeting three sweet dogs: Luna (German Sheppard), Bass (Boxer?) and Rio (a Portuguese Water Dog—new one on me). They were all super sweet and well mannered, as were their owners.
The owner of the condo we have for sale at $92,500 has put in new hardwood floors and all new appliances in the last two years. This complex is on the Tiger Transit, and it is directly across the street from one of the nicest gyms in Auburn. It’s also available for FHA financing, which means that you can put down 5% to purchase this property. For a short time, Barry Jones at WR Starkey is offering no origination fee on FHA loans.
